Capstone Projects
A common capstone classroom connects the incubation centres located in the campus, the centre for Innovative Research (COIR), and the KIIT Centre for Leadership. Non-profit organizations, start-ups, business and media houses sponsor and support this capstone classroom.
Study Abroad
Students have the option of studying one full semester or part of a semester credit or non-credit allied topics in overseas universities across Asia, Europe, America, Australia and Africa.
Centre for Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature (CCSCL)
The Centre for Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature (CCSCL), housed by the School of Liberal Studies, aims to offer research opportunities in different interdisciplinary fields. The CCSCL will collaborate with organizations both within and outside Odisha to preserve aboriginal cultures, while facilitating partnerships with global scholars and institutions to promote cultural exchange and advance research. It also seeks to provide courses to bridge the gap between the fields of technology and humanities, enabling students to cultivate a comprehensive approach towards the social, political, and cultural contexts and implications of their work.
Department of Humanities
The Department of Humanities was established in the year 1997 to meet the growing demand for professionals in the wake of globalization. At present School of Humanities is located in the D Block, Campus 3, Kathajodi Campus.
The School offers courses in three areas – English, Economics and Management for the technical curriculum. It also offers Ph. D. Programme in English and Economics. The School conducts Bridge Courses for the international students taking admission to KIIT. Foreign students have been awarded Ph. D. degrees and are also pursuing Ph. D. in the School. In order to enrich the research platform of the School, faculty members organize International Conferences on contemporary issues. The School conducts Faculty Development Programmes on recent developments in academic and professional domains.
Department of Sociology
The Department of Sociology is dedicated to fostering a thorough and responsible understanding of contemporary society. By staying informed about global and local changes in social life, economics, politics, culture, and daily living, we equip our students to critically analyze their surroundings with strong sociological foundations and interdisciplinary awareness. Our programs emphasize emerging global issues such as health, security, poverty, sustainability, technology, law, and governance. We blend classical and contemporary approaches to key themes like family and kinship, religion and ritual, social hierarchies, rural and urban dynamics, art and aesthetics, and sensory experiences. Our teaching methods adhere to the highest standards of social science excellence, emphasizing rigorous methodologies and theoretical discussions.

Established in 2007, the Department offers various courses in Foreign & Indian Languages for career augmentation. It also offers short-term certificate evening courses in German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin), Spoken English, Odia, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Sanskrit.
