The Department of Psychology, KIIT School of Liberal Studies, organised an expert talk on “Contemporary Techniques in Biopsychology in Hospital Setting” on 21 August 2026. Ms. Shrusti Nanda, Psychologist and rTMS Tech from the Department of Psychiatry, Utkal Hospital, Bhubaneswar, conducted the session. The talk introduced students to contemporary techniques including PET, CT, MRI, fMRI and TMS through case examples and recorded videos.
The session also explored practical aspects of diagnosis and patient follow-up in cases involving psychological, psychiatric, biological and neurobiological concerns. The interaction helped students connect their academic learning in Biopsychology and Biological Bases of Behaviour with clinical applications and career opportunities in psychology.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Shraddha Mathur, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, and the speaker was felicitated by Dr. Soma Parija, Program Head, Department of Psychology, KSLS.
